Email Notification allow you to set the SMTP configuration options.

 

Sender Email

The email address under which this email will be sent. If you are notifying people other than yourself then you should probably make sure that replies to emails sent from EventSentry arrive somewhere.

 

Sender Name

This value will appear as the sender of the email.

 

Recipients

The email addresses of all recipients separated by a comma. The total length of all recipients (including the commas) cannot exceed 512 characters.

 

SMTP Server

The host name or IP address of the SMTP server.

 

SMTP Port

The port the SMTP server is listening on. This is usually 25, but different for servers using/requiring SSL/TLS connections.

 

Use SSL/TLS

Some SMTP servers require SSL/TLS connections, check this box if this is the case and make sure you enter the correct SMTP Port. TLS connections usually require a SMTP port other than 25, e.g. port 465.

 

Enable SMTP notifications

Check this box to receive emails, clear this box to not receive emails.

 

Test

You can click on the "Test" button to test your current email configuration.

 

Authentication

If your SMTP server requires authentication then you can enter user name and password in the SMTP Authentication dialog.

 

Both the clear text (AUTH LOGIN) and MD5 (CRAM MD-5) authentication protocols are supported.
